Announcement of the TOP 50 DAM Karaoke Ranking for Summer 2021 Anime!
1st place is the OP theme 'ABC Exercise' from 'Uramichi Oniisan'!!
Daiichi Kosho Company conducted a karaoke ranking survey of TV anime theme songs for summer anime works from the July 2021 season on the DAM karaoke system.
The song that topped the 2021 Summer Anime Theme Song Karaoke Ranking was the opening theme 'ABC Taiso' from 'Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan.' This work, which garnered significant attention on social media after the anime adaptation was announced, saw fans dancing along to the theme song sung by Iketeru Oniisan (voiced by Mamoru Miyano) and Uta no Oneesan (voiced by Nana Mizuki). It became a major topic of discussion alongside the anime's broadcast and emerged as the biggest anime song hit of the summer. On 'LIVE DAM Ai' and the 'LIVE DAM STADIUM Series,' full-size anime videos edited exclusively by DAM were distributed, earning enthusiastic support from many people.
The second place went to the opening theme 'Gamble' from 'Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy.' This popular light novel series, which has surpassed 2 million copies in total circulation, was brought to life with a high-energy guitar rock track by musician and Vocaloid producer syudou. It quickly became a new staple of anime songs, sung at karaoke venues nationwide.
In third place was the opening theme 'Ai no Supreme!' by fhana from the second season of 'Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S.' With its upbeat melody and catchy rap sections, this song inspired many to grab the microphone and sing along. The perfectly matched visuals and music of the anime's opening also became a hot topic.

As expected, the opening theme song 'ABC Taiso' from 'Uramichi Oniisan' was incredibly strong! You could call it a dream match featuring two top artists representing the voice acting industry: Nana Mizuki × Mamoru Miyano. It seems likely to become a staple karaoke song in the future. One notable trend from the summer anime season was the rise of anime songs created by Vocaloid producers. For instance, 'Gamble' by syudou, who gained massive popularity as the lyricist and composer of Ado's breakout hit 'Usseewa,' and 'March of the Saints' by Tatsuya Kitani, a member of sajou no hana and also widely known as the Vocaloid producer 'Konnichiwa Tanitasan,' are prime examples. These songs have been climbing the rankings not only by appealing to anime and anime song fans but also by drawing in Vocaloid listeners. Another standout is fhána's 'Supreme of Love,' an exquisite pop number that boldly incorporates rap. Anime songs featuring male-female rap duets are quite rare, and this one is sure to be a hit at karaoke! From newcomers to veterans, this summer's anime song scene was dominated by a diverse array of talented artists and creators.
