In Chofu City, Tokyo, the late Tadahiko Hoshi (former honorary chairman) founded Hoshi Shoten and began selling audio equipment.
1976February
Changed the trade name and business purpose of Nitto Co., Ltd. and started the commercial karaoke business as Daiichi Kosho Co., Ltd. in Nakano, Tokyo.
May
Started selling the 8-track karaoke system 'Play Sound TD-201' and karaoke tapes 'A Series'.
1978October
Established Cosmo Co., Ltd. (now Shizuoka Daiichi Kosho Co., Ltd.) in Hachioji City, Tokyo, as the first domestic sales subsidiary.

*The predecessor of our company was the privately-run 'Hoshi Store', founded in March 1971 in Chofu City, Tokyo, and engaged in the sale of audio equipment. However, with business expansion, in February 1976, we changed the business purpose of the dormant 'Nitto Co., Ltd.' (established in April 1973) and changed the trade name to 'Daiichi Kosho Co., Ltd.', starting operations as a corporation.
